Why brands don’t need Instagram.
The lesson here goes beyond the fashion industry and Instagram, which is the focus of this article on highsnobiety. What’s important to know is that the new, new marketing thing — whatever it is — isn’t a silver bullet for brands. Properly used and mixed into a comprehensive brand and/or marketing strategy, Instagram, Facebook and other social media platforms can surely make a difference. But jumping on the bandwagon with both feet, simply because it works for someone else, is no way to manage a brand. Nor is abandoning a long term strategy for temporary hype.
