Dixie & Bass
The Dixie and Bass brand expression was inspired by the characters on the original 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon label. Conceived in the fertile imagination of Randy Clark, a Bellingham, Washington illustrator, the Aquilini’s worked with Clark to develop a label for each varietal. To us the bird and dog combination (Dixie and Bass, respectively) was the perfect representation of an unusual wine pairing — the underlying strategic foundation of the Dixie & Bass wines themselves. We ran with this, giving witty, slightly sarcastic personalities to both players, and weaving their banter throughout the site and social media.
The eventual plan is to bring Dixie & Bass to life with animation and voiceover, to further appeal to the younger wine consumer that makes up the primary target audience.
