For 30 years, HP’s digital and video production services division, Media Solutions, has provided many of the company’s internal and external communications. One Degree were brought in to help increase the group’s share of HP’s total marketing assignments, including those awarded to external agencies who offer creative strategy and ideas. These shops would then outsource to much more expensive partners when production equipment, studio space or high-end editing services were required.

Building on company-wide momentum to re-brand HP as a strategic technology consultant, we recommended positioning the group as a provider of communication “solutions” (the combination of hardware + software + consulting, in HP parlance) that drive business results. We then created Media Solutions’ newly-designed intranet site, below. (Sorry, it’s behind HP’s firewall so this is all we can show you.)

We also produced a series of films of their most significant achievements, including the two, below. In the first, renowned adventurer, photographer, environmentalist and HP partner, Sebastian Copeland, worked with Media Solutions to create footage that helped him promote his HP-sponsored film, “Into The Cold.” The film was recently made an official selection at the Tribeca Film Festival.

As a long-time sponsor of the Sundance Film Festival, HP was looking for a way to support independent filmmakers at the festival itself. In “Sundance,”Media Solutions designed and built a fully-functional television studio in California, disassembled it then put it back together in Park City, which gave these writers, directors and stars a stage for promoting their films.

Lastly, a quarterly e-newsletter (below) drives traffic to the new site and to a supporting blog (available outside the firewall) to expose the full story of Media Solutions’ capabilities.
